About Me - Just the facts
Hello, my name is Dusty Davidson.
What can I say about myself, other than I am a software developer currently living in lovely Omaha, Nebraska. I live with my girlfriend
Marlina, in a loft apartment in the Old Market area of Omaha.
I'm currently a .NET developer at C & A Industries, a recruiting and staffing company. I've been there just a short while now, since about April of 2006.
Prior to that, I was the lead developer and evangelist at Genesis Systems, a small software development & network support company also here in Omaha. For some time,
I took a break from maintaining this website, to redesign and establish the Genesis Blog. (Which has since been re-re-designed)
In addition, I've got a number of side projects going, in various stages of completeness. These include:
I'm fascinated by all areas of technology, but especially these days with web development. My tool of choice is ASP.NET, and I must say that I'm starting
to grow quite fond of Javascript.
From time to time, you may see posts on my blog, and photos in my gallery pertaining to travel and the trips that I take. In the summer after
I graduated from Iowa State University, I spent 5 or so months backpacking around europe.
Just me, all by my lonesome. All of my pictures are up on the site here, as well as a fairly detailed travel log outlining my trip. I used this website pretty much as my only means of communicating with the people back home, and the result is quite a story.
This blog has existed in some form or another for the better part of 6 years now, and it's current state is just another
interation in it's lifecycle.
Technology wise, it started out years ago running Greymatter, and then for a long while was a custom site written in PHP with a MySQL backend. It ran like that for
a good many years, until I finally moved away from Linux, and moved to ASP.NET & SQL Server. I tried Community Server for a while, but have finally settled in to yet another custom solution written in ASP.NET 2.0. There's just
something that I love about having absolute control over my website.
That's all for now.
