sitting in naples, at julie's brother tom's house, with a REAL COMPUTER, so guess what that means... pictures!!! hurray.. i'm putting them all in a temporary europe album, unnamed and unsorted, and i will sort through them when i get home. so below are a few of my favorites.. can't upload them all right now, as its only dial up.. hopefully before i leave here though...
so we leave florence today, bright and early, and head for pisa. should've been just an easy stop, then continue on the train towards naples..hmmm, FAR from easy. hot, crowded bus to get to the piazza di miracoli, where the tower and such are. however, upon arriving, it was worth all of the day's travel problems, in my opinion, to see the leaning tower, and the cathedral, from a distance. more JUNK VENDERS than you can shake a stick at though. junk shop your way across italy, i swear. and i wanted to punch all the people who were taking pictures of the leaning tower, as if they were holding it up. literally, EVERYONE was doing that. freaking people.
so it was worth it, but the crappy travel had yet to begin. aparently they'd over booked the train, and we didn't have reservations for seats, so basically i sat on my backpack in the eisles for 4 hours from pisa to naples. in the 100 degree heat. with 1 million of my closest, italian only speaking friends. and the cabin i ended up in was non smoking, except for uh, the people smoking. oh well. we made it.
its lovely here, went swimming all evening.. sooooo refreshing. and like i said, now there's internet on a real computer. and unlimited wine. mmmmmm. hurray for cheap wine thats tasty. i think its bed time.
