first off... pictures!! words cannot describe how happy i am right now that i am currently in the process of sending ALL of my pictures to my website! that means that i will not only be able to post them all, but will also not run out of film. which makes me even HAPPIER, since i broke down and had to buy another card in barcelona for a whopping 40 euro. but no more. after offloading these, i *should* be able to make it the rest of the trip!
and now, lets see.. sarah and i are now in sevilla. its sorta been hell getting here though. as it turns out, she started to get REALLY sick starting our last night in madrid, 2 days ago. swollen tonsils, fever, yada yada yada. and the 1 billion degree hostel didn't help much. we make it to sevilla yesterday though, on the fastest nicest train EVER. by this time though she's doing pretty horrible, and having to lug a large bag around wasn't helping things out much.. we decide to go to the hospital, cause the stuff the pharmacy had given her wasn't doing ANYTHING. um, the lets go book said that the people at the hospital spoke english.. well, they didn't. it was a frustrating struggle to figure out anything. luckily we both speak about the same level of spanish, and the people were quite friendly, but it was still chaos. after an hour or so, we finally see a guy, and he gives her some medicine to take for the next few days. hopefully its the right stuff. we really have no way of knowing.
at this point, we've got no place to stay, and end up at this amazingly nice hotel, simply because it was air-conditioned and a block from the hospital. it was 105 degrees here yesterday, so walking wasn't really the best option. ended up sleeping for most of the evening, except for eating ice cream and such. her tonsils were really horribly swollen still, and she had a fever. there's a picture of them if you're brave.
woke up this morning and had the most wonderful buffet breakfast. nice hotels=nice breakfast i guess. much MUCH better than the stale bread and water that i'm used to :-) sarah's feeling better, hopefully something's starting to work, although her tonsils are still the size of freaking grapefruit. moved to a cheaper hotel, which is also closer to the sights. i just want to see the cathedral, 3rd largest in the world, and maybe go see a bullfight tomorrow, this is supposed to be the premier place to do it. the plaza del torros is BEAUTIFUL.
