i appologize for the complete lack of postings in about the last week or so. the days just seem to fly by, and every day i think to myself, "tomorrow, i will update my website". and basically, it never happens. but now, a day before i'm out of here, i figured i should jot down some of the happenings of the past few days.

as i said, the days sort of all blur together. i do remember however, that the first few days after my last post, i did absolutely nothing. no, really. nothing. laying in a hammock all day napping and just relaxing. leaving the hostel only to get a soda and a souvlaki. it was perfect for a few days, and was just what i needed.

buuut, after a few days of utter nothingness, you start to feel like you should be accomplishing something. so, myself and another guy decided we would build a table from bamboo. don't ask me why, we just thought that it would be an ok thing to do. mimick the table thats outside of our room, only make it completely out of bamboo. soo, we "worked" and worked for about 2 entire days on that table, finishing the round top,but in the end gave up on it. after a while, even that accomplishment wasn't enough.

so the next day, myself and a couple of canadian girls hiked up the river that's right next to the hostel. informally known as the "river walk", it involves hiking up the mountain a ways, and then at one point, getting in the river, and continuing the remainder of the way by wading through the river. it was incredible. i had no idea that we'd actually be walking IN the river. the water was ICE COLD, but so very refreshing, and the whole time your in the shade the forest, climbing over huge boulders and such. the pictures are amazing. another one of those places where every few steps i wanted (and did) to stop and take a picture. and top that off with a fine authentic greek meal at the top of the mountain in a small village. what a fine day of accomplishment.

the next day a few of us hiked about an hour down the coast to a beach called 'one rock'. its just a tiny beach, that you have to climb down cliffs to get to, and go figure, there's one large rock out a ways from the beach. gale force winds were making waves that were 10 feet high or larger, making for quite the roller-coaster ride. it was sooooo much fun getting thrashed around by these waves. but, the loooong walk home sucked.

the next day, we figured we'd remedy the problem of walking, by hiring some scooters! 13 euros a day for a 50 cc hog that revolutionized my daily routine. no longer did i have to walk all the way to the supermarket to get breakfast, i could DRIVE. ha. and what REALLY made the difference was going back to one rock on the bike. 5 minutes and we were there. all the fun, and none of the walking. beautiful.

so thats about it really, the scooters are really the best invention ever. i don't know what i was thinking not having one the entire time. amazing. unfortunately i found this out a bit too late, as i'll be leaving tomorrow. night ferry to athens, then the day in athens, and a late night flight to london. i'll be saying goodbye to the sun and beach for a loooong time. booooo.
