Today we take another large leap forward in the saga to at long last get my photos site back up and running. With the advent of my spiffy new ASP.NET 2.0 blog, I've added the ability to interface to it via Web Services. This has allowed me to do things like import old blog entries, and now, it has allowed me to do mass-uploading of my photos.
I modeled my photo uploader after this wonderful tool built for Community Server. In fact, I was waiting for that guy to release the source for his tool, and I was just going to modifiy it, but I got restless and decided to roll-my-own. Not that difficult really, and having his as a base for comparison was a huge plus.
So I've begun the rather daunting task of uploading images. At last count, there were 856 photos in the Backpacking Around Europe album, but that number will surely go up.
There are quite a few bugs and look 'n feel changes that need to be worked out with the photos side of the site, but the infrastructure is there to support the pictures, so I figured why not post them, and worry about tweaking the layout and such at a later time.
So, enjoy the photo albums... I sure have...
