Workout PodCasts

I'm probably pretty behind the times on the whole podcasting phenomenon - heck, I dont' even "subscribe" to them or whatever you're supposed to do, but rather just download the mp3s. Bleh, any way you look at it, there's podcasts out there of all shapes and sizes, and they can be a wealth of information.

I've found that they can also be a great way to pass time. *Especially* when I'm working out. I used to actually print off blog entries from my RSS aggregator each morning, about a dozen or so of the more lenghty ones. Then I would take those to the gym and read them while I was running. This had the benefit of me not wasting as much time at work reading blogs. However, as you can imagine, it's a big pain in the butt, and reading while running isn't necessarily one of my favourite things.

Enter podcasts, or rather - tech-ish mp3s. I've given up on printing, and have started just filling my IPOD Nano with a variety of technology mp3s. These pass the time amazingly, often times more in depth than a smattering of blog entires would be.

Recently I've been listening to the mp3's of the Carson Workshops Summit. If you haven't checked it out, i HIGHLY encourage it. A collection of presenters - some of the biggest names on the web right now. Joshua Schachter of Delicious. David Heinemeier Hansson of 37signals (and Ruby on Rails). Cal Henderson of Flickr. And many more.

Just finished the DHH one last night, and it's a great discussion on Rails, beautiful code, and convention over configuration. He's an energetic speaker, I'm sad that I won't be attending the 37 Signals Getting Real Workshop.
