Well, we really had a wonderful time in Copenhagen, but we've made it out of there, and we're now in Berlin. We'll be here for about the next 3 or 4 days.
We took a decent night train to get here, with one other guy in there with us... an Iraqi. Now, this shouldn't make me nervous, but I must admit it did a bit. We had purchased a bunch of picnic stuff -- some cheese, wine, bread & meats -- and we ate that on the train which was tons of fun! Really the only bad thing was later in the night some other people joined our cabin, and one of them snored REALLY LOUD. Marlina got a little annoyed, until she got some earplugs.. after that, it was smooth sailing.
Today we arrived in Berlin and got checked into our hostel -- The Circus. Man! This hostel is SOOOO nice compared to that full-of-school-children "hostel" from Copenhagen. We've got a double room, so we've got a little privacy, and a little room to spread out.
We went walking on our own all day, through most of the city. Really, the most amazing part was walking through the FAN MILE... literally a mile or two long street where they've set up big screen TV's, beer tents, & food. WOW. There's a game tonight actually IN Berlin, Sweden v. Paraguay, so there's Swedish fans EVERYWHERE! Literally, everyone is wearing YELLOW. It's great.
Tonight we're going to head down there to watch the actual game, and it should be pretty crazy. We've talked to a couple of people who said it's a great time. I don't doubt it!
