1&1 Internet - UPDATE

Saturday, January 13, 2007 3:31 PM

A few days ago I talked about my negative experiences with 1&1 Internet. Well, I'm happy to announce that they've seemingly done the right thing and have canceled my account with a full refund!

Dear Dustin Davidson,
Thank you for contacting us.
I can see that you have already cancelled your package.  You won't be
charged for this service again.  As well, I have refunded your only
invoice.  This is in accordance with the 90 day money back guarantee.
You should see this refund on your next invoice/statement.  Thanks.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Now, I say seemingly, because there are still no refunds posted to my credit card. Time will tell on that one, but I *did* receive an invoice from them for the negative amount. Yippee!

This doesn't change my opinion of them however. NOTHING should be this difficult. It's just bad business, period.

I'm having a bad experience with 1and1 too. How can they say they provide MS SQL support when you can't even connect to their darned database through Management Studio?!?
How can anyone do any serious development without it?

Instead I've got this crummy little myLittleAdmin tool that doesn't even want to import the data since their database is MS SQL 2000 and my local one is 2005. So I created a clone of my database compatible with MS SQL 2000 and still no luck!

So I thought what about if I script the database. Guess what? With their myLittleAdmin tool, I can't even run an SQL Script. Arghhh! How can they say they are the world's no 1 webhost? Maybe there should be a little * next to that with the following that reads:

* world worst host.

Any ideas of what I can do?
